Newcastle vs Crystal Palace Preview

Newcastle continue their charge for Champions League football when they host Crystal Palace in a difficult Premier League fixture at St. James Park.

Form

Newcastle have been impressive this season and head into this fixture on the back of a resounding 4-1 win over Man United.

They have now won six of their last eight games in all competitions including four straight Premier League wins.

They have been fluid in attack and have scored two or more goals in five of their last ten Premier League games while eight of those matches have seen Over 2.5 goals.

Newcastle United are strong at home, winning six of their last eight home league games while Over 2.5 goals have featured in nine consecutive home matches.

Despite a 5-2 defeat to Man City in their last league match, Crystal Palace head into this fixture on a strong run of form with seven wins in their last nine games in all competitions.

They have won six of their last ten league games and have scored two or more goals in five of those matches but have struggled defensively with both teams finding the back of the net in six of those ten league games.

Crystal Palace boasts a solid away league form, losing just one of their last ten away league games with six wins and two draws.

They have also kept six clean sheets in ten away league games with seven of those ten games featuring Under 2.5 goals.

Verdict

Recent league meetings between both teams have been low scoring with just one of their last six league meetings seeing Over 2.5 goals. With Crystal Palace's defensive record away from home, I'll be backing Under 3.5 goals.
